About Somers Point

Somers Point is a historic city on the Jersey Shore, recognized as the oldest European settlement in Atlantic County, New Jersey. Settled in 1693 and incorporated as a city in 1902, the community has a population of approximately 10,500. The town features the Bay Front Historic District along Great Egg Harbor Bay, where founder John Somers historically operated the area's first ferry service.
