Sonora, KY

Tucked into southern Hardin County, Sonora is a quiet rural town with deep railroad roots. The settlement sprang up in the late 1850s as a work camp along the L&N Railroad, briefly going by the colorful nickname Bucksnort before taking the name Sonora when the depot opened. That history still shapes the area today, which remains centered around its original crossroads and surrounded by rolling Kentucky farmland.
