South Valley, NM

South Valley is an unincorporated Bernalillo County community just south of Albuquerque, along the Rio Grande side of the metro. It is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools system and has a more rural, valley-floor feel than the city's denser neighborhoods. Irrigation ditches, older homes, small farms, and South Valley's Hispanic and agricultural roots help distinguish it from newer desert-edge subdivisions. It is close to Albuquerque, but it has its own low-slung local character.
