Southgate, MI

Southgate is a Wayne County city in the Downriver suburbs of Detroit. Pierre Michel Campau was the first white settler in the area, and the modern city grew into a dense residential community tied to industry, schools, and nearby river communities. The Southgate Nature Center, connected to Southgate Anderson High School, gives the city a notable local preserve originally created for student learning.
