Southside Place was founded in 1925 around a park, a playground, and a neighborhood pool built to attract early homebuyers. Residents incorporated in 1934 to keep the community independent, and it remains a tiny enclave bordered by West University Place, Bellaire, and Houston. Most homes sit along quiet, walkable interior blocks, with local businesses lining Bellaire Boulevard on the south edge.
