About Speedway

Speedway is a town in Marion County, Indiana, situated five miles west of downtown Indianapolis. Developed in 1912 as a residential suburb, the town of approximately 14,000 is famous as the home of the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The community is an enclave of Indianapolis and hosts several major auto racing headquarters, including the Dallara racecar factory and A.J. Foyt Racing, along with its own municipal public library.
