About Spotsylvania Courthouse
Spotsylvania Courthouse is a census-designated place and the county seat of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, located ten miles southwest of Fredericksburg. Rich in American heritage, the crossroads community of approximately 7,200 was the site of the pivotal 1864 Battle of Spotsylvania Court House and its famous Bloody Angle conflict. Today, the surrounding battlefields are preserved as part of a national military park, and public education is provided by Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
