Spring Glen, UT

Spring Glen is a Carbon County census-designated place of 1,054 people at the 2020 census, along the Price River just south of Helper. James Gay arrived in 1878 as the first settler, and later farmers used the fertile river valley for fields, cattle, and sheep. The community sits in the Carbon Corridor, close to the old coal towns and railroad grades that run through the valley, with U.S. 6 and Spring Glen Road linking it to Helper and Price.

The irrigation canal is one of the big local stories. Residents organized a canal company in 1887, finished carrying water to the land in 1893, and built a community around farms, schools, and meeting places. A two-room school opened in 1904, grew into larger buildings, and the 1927 schoolhouse still stands as a visual shorthand for Spring Glen's past. Price is the county seat; Spring Glen is the farming and river settlement between Price and Helper, with the old school, canal, and river valley giving the place its own frame.
