Spring Valley, AZ

Spring Valley is a Yavapai County census-designated place near Mayer, on the outer edge of the Prescott region. The 2020 census counted 1,143 residents. It sits in a patchwork of unincorporated communities that includes Mayer, Cordes Lakes, Poland Junction, and other high-country settlements, so the place is better read as part of a dispersed local network than as a town with a compact center. The landscape is high desert country, with juniper, chaparral, pines, and long stretches of road between services.

Residents are in Mayer Unified School District, and the Spring Valley Library gives the CDP one of its clearest named community stops. County services, the Mayer precinct, and nearby Prescott and Prescott Valley handle the larger practical needs, while local roads and water systems keep the day-to-day map close to home. Yavapai County’s planning documents also treat Spring Valley as a wildland-edge community, where brush, forest, and development meet. That is the useful shorthand: Spring Valley is a small Arizona place whose character comes from distance, shared school and county systems, and a high-desert landscape that never lets the wider countryside disappear.
