Spring Valley, NY

Spring Valley combines a Pascack Valley Line station and a multi-route bus transit center within a Rockland County village of about two square miles. The village lies mostly in the Town of Ramapo with a small section in Clarkstown; across its 2.01 square miles, the 2020 census recorded 33,066 residents. At Spring Valley Station, the Pascack Valley Line provides service toward Hoboken, with a connection at Secaucus Junction for New York Penn Station. The station is accessible and has Wi-Fi and bicycle parking. Rail meets a broader county bus network at the Spring Valley Transit Center. Transport of Rockland routes 59, 91, 92, and 94 connect the village with places including Suffern, Nyack, Pearl River, Rockland Community College, Haverstraw, and Stony Point.

The county system also connects with Hudson Link, Rockland Coaches, Short Line, and NJ Transit trains. At 24 Chestnut Street, Finkelstein Memorial Library serves the East Ramapo Central School District with collections, public computers, free Wi-Fi, classes, and community programs. Founded in 1917, the library reports that it now serves about 130,000 people across the district. Its 2026 calendar included makerspace workshops, a job fair, early-literacy activities, reading-buddy sessions, and adult dance and craft programs. The Village Community Development office provides another practical point of contact: it handles summer-camp and pool registration, connects residents with job referrals and volunteer opportunities, and hosts job fairs.
