About Springdale
Springdale is a Lancaster County CDP on the west-central side of the county, pressed up against Lancaster to the north and Irwin to the west. Its water runs in two directions: Bear Creek drains north, Rum Creek drains south, and both feed Cane Creek in the Catawba River watershed. That drainage pattern is the local giveaway. Springdale is a named rural area, not an incorporated town, and the useful way to place it is by the county-seat edge and the creeks around it. Think west-central Lancaster County, Cane Creek country, and a place read from its surrounding roads and water.
