Star is a fast-growing city northwest of Boise, mostly in Ada County with portions reaching into Canyon County. Its population more than doubled between 2010 and 2020, reflecting the rapid expansion of the Treasure Valley. Star still has a smaller-town name and layout, but it is firmly tied to the Boise metro through schools, commuting, and suburban development.
