About Stayton

Stayton is a city in Marion County, Oregon, located sixteen miles southeast of the state capital, Salem, along the North Santiam River. Founded in 1866 by Drury Smith Stayton, who built a carding mill and sawmill, the community has grown to approximately 8,300 residents. The city serves as a regional agricultural and light manufacturing center and is home to local attractions like Pioneer Park. The famous Silver Falls State Park, known for its trail of waterfalls, lies nearby.
