Stedman, NC

Stedman is a Cumberland County town on NC 24, about 11 miles east of Fayetteville and 22 miles west of Clinton. The 2020 census counted 1,277 residents. John Culbreth Blocker established a stagecoach house and post office here in 1841, and the town took its name from Civil War Major Charles Manly Stedman. Front Street still carries the old center's name, while the highway and nearby rail corridor show how this small town grew. That mix of road, rail, and old storefronts gives Stedman a recognizable spine.

The current everyday map runs through the elementary school, churches, post office, volunteer fire department, local merchants, and medical offices around the town center.
