Steptoe, WA

Steptoe is a tiny rural community set among the rolling wheat hills of eastern Washington's Palouse region. Sitting right along Highway 195 in Whitman County, it offers quiet country living with a straightforward drive to neighboring hubs. Colfax is about ten minutes south for everyday errands and local dining, while Spokane sits roughly forty-five minutes to the north for city amenities and airport access.

The area is best known for Steptoe Butte, a dramatic landmark rising above the surrounding fields just northeast of town. A road winds all the way to the summit of the state park, giving residents panoramic views that stretch across the farmland into Idaho.
