Stirling City, CA

Perched at about 3,500 feet in the Sierra Nevada foothills, Stirling City offers quiet mountain living roughly 30 miles northeast of Chico. The community was originally founded in the early 1900s as a logging settlement for the Diamond Match Company, built right among the dense pine and cedar forests of Butte County. That higher elevation brings cooler summer temperatures, scenic winter snowfalls, and a secluded, forested backdrop that feels far removed from the valley floor.
