Stockton, KS

Stockton is a friendly community of about 1,500 people in north-central Kansas, serving as the county seat for Rooks County. Located along the South Solomon River, the town traces its roots back to the 1870s when early cattlemen gave it its name. Today, daily life still revolves around the historic courthouse, quiet residential neighborhoods, and a close-knit feel that makes newcomers feel right at home.

Families are supported by the local Stockton public schools, where smaller class sizes give students plenty of individual attention. For fun, residents can visit the free Frank Walker Museum on Walnut Street to see local artifacts or make the short drive south to Rooks County State Lake for fishing and afternoon picnics. It all adds up to an easygoing, affordable place to live with open skies and plenty of room to breathe.
