Swedeland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, situated along the Schuylkill River. Founded as Matsunk by Swedish settlers in 1710 and renamed in the late nineteenth century, the residential and industrial neighborhood of approximately 1,630 is served by the Upper Merion Area School District locally today.
