Sycamore, OH

Two of the village's gathering places sit on Sycamore Avenue: Mohawk Community Library at 200 South Sycamore Avenue and Mohawk Historical Society Museum at 101 North Sycamore Avenue. The library's Thursday storytime and monthly craft nights for local adults and teens alike give the village a recurring calendar, and the museum's local business artifacts, school yearbooks, military items, photographs, and genealogy material keep area history on display. Mohawk Local Schools add another institution shared across the surrounding farm country.

Sycamore was laid out in 1842 beside the creek that gave it its name. Farming remains part of the surrounding economy, with smaller businesses gathered along the village streets.
