Tabiona, UT

Tabiona is a quiet rural town set along the Duchesne River in eastern Utah, right below the slopes of Tabby Mountain. Home to fewer than two hundred people, the community offers wide-open space, mountain scenery, and plenty of breathing room. The area grew out of early twentieth-century homesteading and takes its name from Chief Tabby-To-Kwanah. Working ranches and hay fields still define the valley floor today, preserving a peaceful, old-fashioned country pace.

Daily life revolves around the local K-12 school, where students from kindergarten through graduation learn under one roof and rally around the Tabiona Tigers. Neighbors tend to know everyone in town, and many residents still work family land that has been farmed for generations. While Salt Lake City is about an hour and a half drive to the northwest, most residents look to neighboring towns in Duchesne County and the Uintah Basin for groceries, medical care, and daily necessities.
