About Tanana
Tanana is a small city in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska, situated at the confluence of the Tanana and Yukon rivers. Formerly known as Clachotin, the site historically served as a major traditional meeting and trading post for indigenous groups before the 1860s. Today, the town has a population of about two hundred and fifty residents, is served by the Tanana City School District, and is accessible via the Ralph M. Calhoun Memorial Airport.
