Tetlin, AK

Located along the Tetlin River about 20 miles southeast of Tok, Tetlin is a small, quiet Athabascan community in eastern Interior Alaska. Life here revolves around family, local cultural traditions, and seasonal hunting and fishing in the surrounding lakes and forests. A short access road connects the village to the Alaska Highway, though boats, snowmachines, and small planes are just as common for getting around. Local children attend the Tetlin School from kindergarten through 12th grade, while neighboring Tok provides groceries, medical care, and regional services.
