The Pinery, CO

A Parker mailing address does not make The Pinery part of Parker. The Pinery is an unincorporated census-designated place governed by Douglas County, while the Parker post office serves local addresses. Colorado State Highway 83 runs through the community, with Parker to the north and Franktown and Castle Rock to the south and southwest. The 2020 census recorded 11,311 residents across 10.38 square miles. The same profile counted 3,999 households and an average travel time to work of 31 minutes. Public space is split between Douglas County and the Pinery Homeowners' Association rather than a municipal parks department. County-owned Pinery Park is open to the public and has two playgrounds, a basketball court, multipurpose fields, a picnic shelter, restrooms, and access to a roughly four-mile loop through the local trail system.

County-managed Bingham Lake Park adds fishing, picnicking, and a one-mile path around the water, while Bayou Gulch Regional Park has a dog park and links to additional soft-surface trails. The association maintains North Park, Lakeshore Park, Pinery Nature Park, neighborhood entry landscaping, a newsletter, and community programming; its membership page says those services are supported through required PHA membership. In 2026, the association calendar placed a community garage sale in June, then a children's fishing derby at Bingham Lake and a picnic at Lakeshore Park on the same July morning, followed by an August movie night at Lakeshore. The Pinery Loop connects parks and local destinations to the Cherry Creek Regional Trail, but some nearby routes cross private land under public easements, so posted trail boundaries and leash rules matter.
