The Ponds, NJ

The Ponds is a planned community and Middlesex County CDP of 941 residents in the 2020 census, inside Monroe Township. It sits south of Jamesburg and northeast of Hightstown, near Union Valley Road, with Cranbury Brook draining toward the Millstone River. The place was first counted as its own CDP in 2020, so the census label is newer than the planned community itself. The local setup is planned around shared spaces. The Ponds Clubhouse, community pool, resident activities, and clubs provide the main gathering places, while Monroe Township supplies the larger government and road network.

The community's internal clubs and amenities do much of the social organizing, since the CDP has no separate downtown. The New Jersey Turnpike's Exit 8A is part of the regional orientation, and nearby Monroe adult communities make The Ponds part of a broader age-restricted development landscape.
