About Theresa
Theresa is a Dodge County village surrounded by the Town of Theresa, a place that grew beside the Rock River and an older route now associated with Highway 175. Solomon Juneau built a trading post here in 1833 and founded the village in 1846; German settlers followed, and the business list soon included hotels, stores, blacksmiths, lumber and grain mills, breweries, and a canning factory. The village’s cheese factory and bank remain part of that long commercial story. Theresa is a Wisconsin place where a fur-trade post turned into a river village with an unusually full list of early trades.
