About Thomaston
Thomaston is a city and the county seat of Upson County, Georgia, incorporated in 1825. Named after War of 1812 General Jett Thomas, the community of approximately 9,831 is the home of the historic 1908 Upson County Courthouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city hosts an annual Emancipation Proclamation Celebration each May and is served by the Thomaston-Upson County School District.
