Thunderbolt is a quiet coastal town along the Wilmington River, roughly five miles southeast of downtown Savannah. Home to around 2,500 residents, it has a relaxed Lowcountry feel where shrimp trawlers still pull up to the docks and moss-draped live oaks line the neighborhood streets.
