Tioga, ND

Tioga sits in northwestern North Dakota’s Williams County, about forty miles east of Williston along Highway 2. The town got its start in 1902 as a quiet railroad and grain hub, taking its name from Tioga, New York. Everything changed in 1951 when drillers struck oil on the Clarence Iverson farm just south of town, setting off North Dakota’s very first major oil boom.
