Toksook Bay, AK

Toksook Bay is a city and village on Nelson Island in Alaska's Bethel Census Area. It had more than six hundred residents at the 2020 census and is served by Nelson Island School, a K-12 school operated by the Lower Kuskokwim School District. The community was chosen for the first enumeration of the 2020 U.S. Census because remote Alaska villages need early data collection. Toksook Bay is small, coastal, and deeply shaped by western Alaska travel realities.
