Towanda is an incorporated borough and the county seat of Bradford County, Pennsylvania, situated along the North Branch Susquehanna River sixty-six miles northwest of Wilkes-Barre. Settled in 1784 and featuring a historic downtown district, the river valley commercial center of approximately 2,791 is served by the Towanda Area School District locally.
