About Trinity Center

Trinity Center is a Trinity County community on the north end of Trinity Lake, about 29 miles north of Weaverville. The current shoreline settlement carries the name of an older town that was established as an 1851 stage stop and now lies beneath the reservoir. Trinity Dam created the lake in 1961, changing the valley's map while leaving the old name in place. The result is a place where a highway, a reservoir, a marina, and mountain roads all meet in one compact service area.

Summer brings the lake into focus, with Trinity Center Marina, campgrounds, small resorts, a store, and an airport serving boaters, anglers, and people heading into the Trinity Alps and Shasta-Trinity forests. Coffee Creek is close by, and the Trinity River remains the larger watercourse behind the lake community. Trinity Center Airport and the marina make the place more than a residential address; they provide real travel and recreation links for a county with long distances between towns. Its local story is easy to picture: an old stage stop under the water, a dam-era lake above it, and a present-day road corridor built around summer access.
