Trinity, TX

Trinity is a Trinity County city that began as Trinity Station when the Houston and Great Northern Railroad reached the area in 1872. The town was founded on land bought from the New York and Texas Land Company, then became Trinity City before shortening its name. The railroad made it a county center, and the town later rebuilt after fires in 1892, 1909, and 1915. Old Red Schoolhouse is the piece locals can still point to: the Prairie-style brick building opened in 1915, served all grades for a time, and was saved from demolition by residents and former students.
