Tularosa, NM

Tularosa is a quiet village of around 2,500 people tucked against the base of the Sacramento Mountains. Known as the "Village of Roses," it gets its name from the reddish reeds that line Tularosa Creek, which flows down from the canyon to nourish the town's shaded cottonwoods and gardens. Historic adobe buildings and quiet streets give the village a warm, timeless charm rooted in its early farming heritage. Community traditions run strong here, highlighted every May by the annual Rose Festival, which brings neighbors together for crafts, a parade, and weekend celebrations.
