Tulelake, CA

Tulelake is a quiet farming community in far northern California, sitting right in the Tule Lake Basin just south of the Oregon border. With around 900 residents, it offers a peaceful, open lifestyle where neighbors know each other and traffic is virtually nonexistent. Daily life is simple and relaxed, but whenever you need major shopping, medical care, or a wider choice of restaurants, Klamath Falls is an easy 30-minute drive up Highway 139.

The town has deep agricultural roots, with the surrounding volcanic basin producing major harvests of potatoes, alfalfa, and horseradish. Outdoor recreation is right in your backyard, from birdwatching at the national wildlife refuge to exploring the caves at nearby Lava Beds National Monument. Between local schools, the annual Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair, and the important history preserved at Tule Lake National Monument, it is a tight-knit place with a distinct identity and a strong connection to the land.
