About Tuleta

Tuleta is a quiet rural community in northern Bee County, situated along U.S. Highway 181 roughly twelve miles north of Beeville. Its roots date back to 1906, when a group of Mennonite settlers from Illinois arrived to farm the surrounding South Texas land. Today, the area remains open and agricultural, offering plenty of space and a calm, relaxed pace of living.

Students in the area attend the neighboring Pettus Independent School District, located just a couple of miles up the road. Most residents head into Beeville for daily shopping, dining, and medical care, while U.S. 181 provides an easy drive toward larger regional hubs. Neighbors stay connected through long-standing local traditions, most notably the annual Tuleta Day gathering held on the second Saturday in August.
