Tull, AR

Tull is a Grant County town in central Arkansas, where the 2020 census counted 484 residents. The northwest edge follows the Saline River, a south-flowing tributary of the Ouachita, and the town lies near the Saline County line. Tull is served by the Bauxite School District and is zoned for Bauxite High School, tying the community to a school system across the county border.

A post office opened in 1887 with John M. Tull as first postmaster, then closed in 1915. Tull had its own school for many years before joining Bauxite's system around 1960. The town incorporated in 1966 to create a water system, connecting to Benton water drawn from the Saline River. One general store, one service station, three churches, and a community center shaped that era. Each May, Old Folks' Singing returns to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, bringing the town's church and musical tradition forward. That water decision still links Tull to the Saline River and neighboring Benton today.
