For a mid-sized Tennessee town, Tullahoma has a surprisingly deep high-tech footprint. Just southeast of town sits Arnold Air Force Base and the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, one of the country's major aerospace testing hubs. Right next door, the University of Tennessee Space Institute draws graduate students and researchers from across the nation. Because of this, aerospace engineers, defense contractors, and specialized technicians live alongside healthcare workers, teachers, and local business owners. Aviation is a big part of the local identity, visible at both the active municipal airport on the north side and the town's Beechcraft Heritage Museum.

Daily life revolves around a mix of historic roots and easy outdoor access. Downtown grew up around the railroad line and still holds local restaurants, specialty shops, and the South Jackson Performing Arts Center, which hosts community plays and concerts in a restored schoolhouse. Paved trails along the Rock Creek Greenway connect several residential areas and parks, while nearby outdoor spots like Rutledge Falls, Short Springs, and Tims Ford Lake offer great hiking and boating on weekends. Higher education is close at hand with Motlow State Community College just down the road in Moore County. Most errands, groceries, and dining line up along Jackson Street, so you will definitely want a car to get around.
