Tuskegee is a historic city and the most populous municipality in Macon County, Alabama. The city has played a major role in American history; during World War II, it served as the training grounds for the famed Tuskegee Airmen, associated with the Tuskegee Institute. The area was originally the homeland of the Creek Nation before their forced removal in the 1830s.
