Twin Lakes, IA

At the 2020 census, Twin Lakes was an unincorporated Calhoun County census-designated place of 316 people, six miles north of Rockwell City and spread across Twin Lakes and Sherman townships. The name points to the geography: North Twin Lake and South Twin Lake sit at the center of the area, and the state park occupies shorelines near the community. The lakes are natural, the surrounding roads are rural, and the state park gives the place its most visible public face.

On North Twin Lake, Iowa DNR maintains a seven-mile paved trail around the water, beaches, boat ramps, playgrounds, fishing for bluegill, crappie, and walleye, and a large stone Civilian Conservation Corps shelter.
