University Park, IA

Sitting right on the eastern edge of Oskaloosa, University Park is a quiet, residential community of under 500 residents. Because it borders its larger neighbor so closely, locals enjoy the peaceful pace of a small neighborhood alongside quick access to Oskaloosa's grocery stores, restaurants, and healthcare. For most of the twentieth century, the town's identity centered on Vennard College, a small Christian school that helped shape the area's history and layout.

Although the college closed in 2008, its spacious, tree-lined grounds remain a central hub for outdoor recreation. The campus property offers walking spaces, shaded lawns, basketball and tennis courts, ball fields, mini-golf, and an amphitheater used for community gatherings.
