About Valatie

Valatie is a village in northern Columbia County, New York, situated at the center of the town of Kinderhook. Settled by the Dutch around 1665 and historically named Vaaltje to mean little falls after the Kinderhook Creek waterfalls, the residential community of approximately 1,796 is served by the Ichabod Crane Central School District locally.
