Van Horne, IA

Van Horne is a Benton County city in eastern Iowa, with 774 residents in the 2020 census and a place in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area. The community was named for William Cornelius Van Horne, the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad superintendent associated with its early growth. In 1883, Van Horne was still being described as a new village, but its rail connection quickly made it a business center for the surrounding farms.
