Van Tassell, WY

Sitting right on the Wyoming-Nebraska border along Highway 20, Van Tassell is a quiet rural community surrounded by open ranchland. It started out in the late 1880s as a busy railroad stop and cattle shipping hub, eventually growing to include its own bank, creamery, depot, and local newspaper. The town is also known for organizing the first American Legion post in Wyoming back in 1919. Today, life here is peaceful and slow-paced, with big prairie skies and the neighboring town of Lusk just down the highway for schools, groceries, and everyday services.
