Van, TX

Van is an incorporated city in Van Zandt County, Texas, situated twenty-six miles northwest of Tyler. Named in the nineteenth century for early schoolteacher Henry Vance and experiencing major oil production growth since the 1920s, the trade community of approximately 2,806 is served by the Van Independent School District locally.
