Van Wert is a city and the county seat of Van Wert County, Ohio, situated in the northwestern part of the state. Named for Revolutionary War figure Isaac Van Wart and home to both the annual Peony Festival and the nation's first county library, the community of approximately 10,790 is served by the Van Wert City Schools district for public primary and secondary education.
