About Vance
Vance is a growing town in Tuscaloosa and Bibb counties, Alabama, bridging the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan areas. First settled in 1830 as a trading post named Trion along the Old Huntsville Road, the community is best known today as the home of the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International assembly plant, which is the manufacturer's only passenger vehicle facility in North America. Local education is administered by the Tuscaloosa County School System, serving a population of around two thousand residents.
