Verde Village is a Yavapai County census-designated place next to Cottonwood in Arizona's Verde Valley. It was developed in 1970 as a retirement community and still functions largely as a retirement and bedroom community for Cottonwood. The 2020 population was just over 12,000, making it substantial for an unincorporated place. Local students are served by Cottonwood-Oak Creek and Mingus Union school districts. The appeal is straightforward: residential Verde Valley living with Cottonwood close by.
