Vernon, FL

Vernon is a small, quiet community in Washington County with around 700 residents. Life here moves at an easy pace, shaped largely by the surrounding pine woods and the winding waters of Holmes Creek. The town once served as the county seat back in the nineteenth century, and today that history is reflected in its laid-back residential streets and close-knit neighborhood feel.

Living in Vernon gives you plenty of breathing room while keeping coastal getaways within reach. State Road 79 cuts straight through town, making it easy to head north toward Chipley for shopping or drive about forty-five minutes south to the beaches around Panama City. Local downtime often centers around the outdoors, especially fishing, kayaking, and exploring the clear freshwater springs along the creek.
