Victor, IA

Victor is a quiet farming community of about 900 people, sitting right along the line between Iowa and Poweshiek counties. Its spot just off Interstate 80 makes it an easy drive to bigger spots like Iowa City or Grinnell, but daily life here moves at a much slower, peaceful pace. The town is home to the HLV school district, and the quiet downtown is surrounded by classic Midwestern farmland.

Victor also holds onto a distinctive slice of Belgian heritage through its devotion to rolle bolle. In this traditional bowling game, players roll thick, wheel-like discs down a dirt lane toward a target stake. The town keeps the tradition alive year-round with an outdoor court next to the post office and an indoor lane at The 214 Bar and Grill.
