Vincentown, NJ

Vincentown is a historic village and census-designated place along the South Branch Rancocas Creek in Southampton Township, Burlington County. Vincent Leeds purchased the land in 1743, and the community that grew around his name became a crossroads of homes, shops, churches, mills, and creek bridges. The Vincentown Historic District covers roughly 92 acres west of U.S. 206, so the old street pattern remains part of the town's daily setting, with historic buildings still lining the roads.

Southampton School #1 sits on Pleasant Street in the village, serving the district's youngest students, while the rest of the township's schools and Seneca High School carry the older grades. The Bishop-Irick Farmstead houses the Pinelands Preservation Alliance's headquarters and a visitor center, bringing conservation work into the local map. Main Street, Mill Street, the Rancocas Creek, and the historic district all meet in a small area, giving Vincentown a layered South Jersey rhythm: school mornings, preservation work, creek crossings, and the errands of a living village.
